D-MATRIX SYSTEM

 

The D-Matrix Monitoring System has been designed to monitor and record all activities pertaining to Shaft Signalling and Safety Devices on all Shaft Stations and at the Winder.  

 

Every signal and activity is monitored and recorded by the D-Matrix Monitoring System. This information can be graphically displayed, archived, e-mailed, SMS’d and printed out as and when required, thus providing a full history of all shaft station activities.  

 

Central Master Processing Unit (CMPU):

This is intelligence (placed at the Winder in a 19” floor standing cabinet) controls and monitors various activities related to the complete Bell System.

 

 

Drivers Display:

This system continuously provides the Driver with a display of the source of, and the last two bell sequences rung. The unit graphically displays the status of the Bank, the active underground Station, Winder interlocks pertaining to the Bell System such as:

-         Station Safety Device (locked or unlocked)

-         Raised / Lowered Station Stopping Device

-         Last Bells Rung

-         Winder Status (brakes on-off)

-         Station Gate Status (locked or unlocked)

-         Alarms (unauthorised tampering of Safety Devices on any Station)

 

 

Creep Monitor:

This unit forms part of the Master Controller and logs if the Driver has contravened the slinging laws by exceeding creep speed during clutching or slinging. 

 

 

Drivers, Banksman, Headgear, Onsetter's Monitoring Devices:

These units provide the information for the (CMPU) and the Event Recorder.

 

 
Event Recorder:

This unit records various activities related to the complete Bell System such as:

-         Changing status of Safety Devices

-         Station Gates Status

-         Driver to Bank, Bank to Driver signals

-         Driver to Onsetter, Onsetter to Driver signals

-         Men / material mode

-         Brakes on brakes off

-         Safety circuit tripped

-         Safety circuit healthy

-         Clutch in and out

-         All clear

-         Call Bell

 

 

Note: The above recording is source related e.g. Level 32 rang 3/3/3.  

 

The Event Recorder can be set up so that in the event of certain alarm conditions pre-determined personnel can be informed of the nature and source of the emergency by means of e-mail and or SMS. The last 10 minutes (configurable) of all recorded activities prior to the alarm will be e-mailed to the selected mine personnel.

         Archiving:

The archiving facility allows either automatic deletion or e-mailing of the oldest archive to selected personnel after a pre-configured number of archives have been reached.
